In order to become a dermatologist in Turkey, it is necessary to go through a very peaceful and long journey. It is required to show success not only during academic university training but also during vocational training. Firstly, you need to complete a 6-year medical program at the Medicine Faculty of a university. Secondly, upon completion of this 6-year medical program, you are required to pass a highly challenging “Specialisation in Medicine” exam, and receive a grade that is sufficient for a residency in dermatology.  Following a successful exam result, you need to complete a 5-year vocational residency as an Assistant Dermatologist. Finally, after the completion of all of these steps, you will need to deliver a dissertation.

Dermatologists are doctors who are actively involved in the treatment of skin-related diseases.  They study the medical histories’ of the patients that are admitted to their care. They explain and provide treatment options regarding the problem their patient is experiencing. They are required to follow the letter and the spirit of the law while delivering treatment. They help their patients regain their health by applying the right treatment at the right time.  They deal with hair loss issues, which are a common and unpleasant complaint in our society, and carry out both hair transplantation and treatments that improve skin quality. They help remove wrinkles, unwanted or incorrectly administered fillers, acne spots around the face and eyes.

A dermatologist is a doctor that examines, provides diagnosis, and information about treatment plans and options for diseases of the upper and lower layers of the skin.
